Rebound

Every night when I look up
You creep through my eyes
I was perhaps used to you
That I see you in the skies

When dawn lights the yonder
Your memories hit my mind
I may have taken you granted
But I can’t leave you behind

Often I’m reminded of you
Making me go weak inside
I wish I could change times
Which I can’t, even if I tried

When we parted ways last
And chose our moral ground
We thought our life was over
Yet, we were quick to rebound

Now that we’ve moved on
Nothing seems all that bad
I know we’re not meant to be
Still there is much to be glad

We’ve come very far separately
We created a galaxy to treasure
I shall always be a part of you
Though we’ll never be together

It was a matter of the mind
The heart sacrificed in vain
I will be yours and you mine
Till in eternity we dance again
