We pine for things we won’t get
We run after people who don’t care
We come up with reasons on being right
And call it the irony of life
We abuse relationships of the dear
We cry when those are not near
We wish we could do so much
And call it the irony of life
We hurt those who love us
We get hurt by who we love
We forgive those who don’t deserve
And call it the irony of life
We don’t care for our parents when old
We want their money and all their gold
We often forget why we exist in the first place
And call it the irony of life
We want to prove to those who doubt us
We give our virtues to those who betray
We claim loneliness and being love lorn
And call it the irony of life
We treat our bodies like trash cans
We rush to the doctors when it recoils
We speak about fitness but no action
And call it the irony of life
We don’t respect our surroundings
We want it to be perfect still
We turn blind to the useful resources
And call it the irony of life
We feel bad for refugees in Syria
We argue about all the wrong doings
We can contribute to the better but won’t
And call it the irony of life
We waste food like no tomorrow
We feel pity for the unfortunate
We sit on our couches and don’t do a thing
And call it the irony of life
We say it is all about inner beauty
We however judge on the appearance
We get all philosophical at convenience
And call it the irony of life
We rebuke those who are childless
We cringe about female infanticide
We tall eloquently about social causes
And call it the irony of life
We call ourselves agnostic
We say we are more spiritual than not
We still pick sides during crisis
And call it the irony of life
We marry for true love (so we say)
We procreate for sake of love too
We realize otherwise and chug along
And call it the irony of life
We revile the earth we live in
We crucify those who toil for humanity
We keep the surplus of good to ourselves
And call it the irony of life
