Mirror

My mirror never lies
Shows me what I want to see
Tells me who I should really be
When I have no one around me
Says things back I always agree
When I want to hide, to take a selfie
Makes me go from worry to free
Compels me to think and foresee
Ever not self-pity or be sorry

My mirror never lies
Helps me not to stray
Tells me to fight come what may
When my thoughts seem to decay
Says, just find another way
When I am duped and in dismay
Makes me shine through the day
Compels me to make my own play
Ever not to let my critics allay

My mirror never lies
Shows what reality is all about
Tells me why I should never doubt
When I am sad and in a pout
Says to rise from all rout
When I make a fool, not to be a lout
Makes me to be on the lookout
Compels me to strive to stand out
Ever not give up on life but scout
