Phlegm

Do not judge me for what I’m not
Love me for who I am or can be
There is a not much difference
Perception is all that you see

When I’m troubled, loud, and weird
Assume not that I am hideous
That could be my decoy for bold
For I may be fighting a big duress

You may want me to live another
Pretend to be who I never care
My strength comes from being me
Whether I’m a dream or nightmare

Success is not easy for the bold
Because of how threatening ‘I’ is
You don’t want to see my weakness
Ignorance here is a definite bliss

Compassionate or something else
The instincts are all the very same
While you define my existence
I may not want a part in that game

Discriminate me all you would like
Indomitable and audacious I am
To be that woman is sovereignty
For my phlegm is a ruthless charm
